Record Crowd Attends Professional Bull Riding in Salinas

The Touring Pros put on a Great Show

SALINAS, CA July 21, 2011 - A record crowd witnessed the 11^th annual Professional Bull Riding at the Salinas Sports Complex on Wednesday July 20^th as Elliott Jacoby from Fredericksburg, TX took home the belt buckle and walked away with just over $8000. Eight thousand seemed to be the number of the night because the crowd almost reached that number at 7,972 tickets sold. That number is an increase 17.7% over 2010. The night was full of non-stop bull riding action and antics by funny man, our clown for the 2011 California Rodeo Salinas, Gizmo McCracken.

Other PBR winners included Shane Proctor from Mooresville, NC in 2^nd place and a tie for 3^rd and 4^th place between  Harve Stewart from Stephenville, TX and Budd Williamson from Queensland, Australia.

ABOUT PBR

The PBR's Touring Pro Division is the new 2012 minor-league tour of the PBR, replacing the Challenger, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Discovery Tours. As with the previous minor-league tours, it offers up-and-coming bull riders and riders not competing on the elite Built Ford Tough Series the opportunity to compete in PBR-sanctioned events while earning money to qualify them for the BFTS and the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals.
The new Touring Pro Division is split into three regions: the Western Region, the Central Region and the Eastern Region. Visit www.pbrnow.com for an interactive map of the regions.

Once the season begins, the world's Top 40 bull riders have five BFTS events to secure their positions on that elite tour. After the fifth event, the bottom five riders (based on points) are dropped from the BFTS. The Top 5 Touring Pro Division riders (based on money earned) are then allowed to move into those five positions.
The PBR's Touring Pros come to Salinas Wednesday July 18, 2012. Gates open at 5pm, Bull Riding begins at 7pm. Tickets range from $10 for children (select rows) to $75 for track seats. Tickets are on sale now!
