The California Rodeo’s Coloring Contest presented by Home Depot is back again this year. The community can get involved in the Rodeo Association’s festivities leading up to the Rodeo in July by having kids submit an entry. The contest is open to 3rd and 4th grade age children and starts on April 1st. The coloring sheet is available at Home Depot at 1890 N. Davis Road in Salinas and at the California Rodeo Office at 1034 N. Main Street in Salinas or via download at www.carodeo.com under Events. Click on Family Events and Coloring Contest. Children can draw their favorite events in the arena at the California Rodeo Salinas or whatever image they choose in the blank area on the entry form.
Entries are due by Monday June 1st at 5pm and can be submitted to the California Rodeo Salinas during business hours of 9am to 5pm or through the mail slot if it is after hours, via mail to the California Rodeo Salinas at PO Box 1648, Salinas, CA 93902 or to Home Depot at 1890 N. Davis Road in Salinas at their Customer Service Window. The California Rodeo’s Marketing Committee will select 10 semi-finalists and post their entries to the California Rodeo’s Facebook page in early June. Fans will vote for their favorite entry by ‘liking’’ the picture. Three finalists with the most ‘likes’ will then be reposted to the page and fans will vote again via ‘likes.’ The entry with the most votes wins. The 3 finalists will each receive 3 tickets to the 2016 California Rodeo’s Thursday July 21st performance. The grand prize winner will be announced by June 15th and will receive 2 additional tickets for Thursday July 21st, a meet and greet with a freestyle bull fighter and their artwork will be featured on the Jack in the Box Instant Replay Screen on Thursday July 21st and also on carodeo.com.
