The Saturday matinee performance of the California Rodeo Salinas drew 11,899 people to the Salinas Sports Complex, up 1.5% over the Saturday performance in 2016. The Special Buckaroos Rodeo presented by Tanimura & Antle kicked off the day just before Veteran James “Guido” Davis parachuted into the arena with an American flag and then Monterey County Sheriff Steve Bernal sang the National Anthem on Salute to Military Day.
Fans enjoyed a great day of action in the arena and on the track. Clayton Biglow is leading the Bareback Riding with an 84.5, Dakota Eldridge is winning the average in the Steer Wrestling with a time of 14.7 seconds on two head, Team Roping average leaders are Chad Masters and Travis Graves with a 29.9 on three head, Saddle Bronc Riding is led by Brody Cress with an 82, Cooper Martin is leading the average in the Tie Down Roping with a 20.7 on two head, the Barrel Racing average leader is Timi Lickley with 49.2 seconds on three runs and Bull Riding is a tie between Trey Benton III and Koby Radley with a score of 86 points as we head into the championship round tomorrow. The action was streamed live on the Wrangler Network, www.WranglerNetwork.com, and will be again tomorrow at 1pm. It was also broadcast via radio on Sirius XM 147 Rural Radio and will also air tomorrow at 1pm live during our final round of action.
