Established in 2010 during the centennial anniversary of the California Rodeo Salinas, the Hall of Fame roster is full of rodeo legends including Ty Murray, Wilbur Plaugher, Jack Roddy and over forty other icons who have contributed to the legacy of the California Rodeo Salinas.
The goals of the California Rodeo’s Hall of Fame are to honor the individuals, organizations and livestock whose distinctive contributions to the California Rodeo Salinas have helped the organization to become a star in the industry and local community and to preserve the heritage, history and traditions of the Rodeo.
Nomination forms for the 2018 induction are due by Wednesday, February 28th. Forms can be found at www.carodeo.com under ‘About Us’ and ‘History.’ Forms are also available at the California Rodeo Salinas office at 1034 N. Main Street in Salinas, Monday through Thursday 9am to 5pm and from 9am to 11:45am and 1:15pm to 5pm on Fridays.
2018 inductees will be recognized at the Hall of Fame Induction on Thursday, July 19th at 11:30am on the Mike Storm Director’s Patio at the Salinas Sports Complex at 1034 N. Main Street in Salinas. The event will consist of lunch and the presentation of awards to inductees or their representatives. The 2018 luncheon is sponsored by The Jim & Sally Martins Family. Tickets will be $30 and will be available for purchase at a later date.
