The California Rodeo Salinas awarded a record-breaking $47,500 in educational scholarships last year and the application period for 2025 funds is open. The California Rodeo Salinas started a scholarship program with Hartnell College back in 1986 and recently transitioned the program to the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC). Over $204,000 has been awarded to students over the past 39 years and we look forward to continuing to impact the future of motivated scholars.
Students who are California Rodeo Salinas Committee Members or are related to Committee Members may apply for the scholarships. The CFMC Rodeo scholarship committee intends to award six $5,000 scholarships to be used for 2- or 4-year colleges, graduate school, or trade school. “Hundreds of volunteers work very hard each year on the California Rodeo Salinas, and these scholarships are a great way to give back to our volunteers and community,” noted Kelly McCarthy Sutherland, chair of the California Rodeo’s Scholarship Committee.

Students will be notified if they win a scholarship by May 1, 2025.
