The California Rodeo Salinas will host a fundraiser on Thursday October 9th from 5:30-7pm on the Mike Storm Directors Patio at the Salinas Sports Complex. The Hot Irons & History event will be a unique one featuring a hosted bar, western appetizers and a ceremonial branding. Attendees can bring their livestock brands and pay to have them placed on the barn wood walls on the patio to raise funds for the California Rodeo Salinas’ Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was started in 2010 and thanks to a generous donation from the Gheen Family, a wall was completed in July 2014 to house a permanent display of plaques that will honor Hall of Fame inductees. The funds from the October 9th event will be used toward the purchase of plaques for the 36 members that have been inducted since 2010.

If you would like to have your brand placed on the wall, the fee is $250 (per brand) and includes admission for two to the party on October 9th; space is limited to 100 brands. You can register online at http://www.carodeo.com/events/2014/hot-irons or by calling 831-775-3100 and paying with your credit card over the phone. You will be asked to tag your brand and leave it here on October 9th so the brands can be burned onto the wall at a later date; other arrangements can be made to drop brands off at the Rodeo Office if you can’t make the event. There will be a 1x3 inch identification plate affixed to the wall below each brand; a maximum of 3 lines can be filled with 15 characters per line to identify your brand, ranch or family name. If you would like to attend the event, but don’t have a brand, the fee is $25 per person and includes a hosted bar and western appetizers. The California Rodeo Salinas started its Hall of Fame during the centennial anniversary of the Rodeo in 2010 as a way to honor the people, livestock and other entities that have made the California Rodeo Salinas the prestigious event that it is today. Celebrate 105 years of the California Rodeo Salinas July 16-19, 2015. The Salinas Sports Complex is located at 1034 N. Main Street in Salinas, CA.

We support the community and other non-profit organizations through the staging of the annual California Rodeo Salinas and other year round operations of the Salinas Sports Complex. Through donation of our facility, vending and fundraising opportunities during Rodeo and other events, the California Rodeo Association returns between $200,000 and $300,000 annually to local non-profits.
